Sept 09 Aastra have announced that DNA will not be supported on  MX-One version 4 (released end of dec 09). It will continue to be supported on existing platforms TSW and versions 3.X of TSE.

What does that mean in a nutshell to an existing user of DNA?
Your service partner will require to move your existing DNA features across to the CMG platform (typically these are OWS, DMG and EMG). If a client is moving to version 4 we would expect their intention would be to take advantage of the richer application suite available with CMG.

Cost?
Well we understand, the like for like replacement of DNA to CMG will be extremely low from a licensing perspective from Aastra, however, make sure you talk to your service partner about the implementation and any project costs (which will probably not be free). There will be training needs.

We all tend to be spoilt for choice in terms of end user applications.  DNA was the glue to build those applications into your MD110 / MX-ONE.  What it also included was the operator services and directory amongst other elements like EMG and softphone client ECC. Announced is September 08 was the decision to continue with DNA alongside CMG. DNA / CMG position (sept 2008)

Many users associate DNA with the Operator and Directory listings but there is a lot more for the buisness to use if the need is identified. There is a lot of discussion about the impact of Netwise (CMG) with regard to DNA here is a presentation to identify the convergence strategy for these application suites. Click here
