CMG contains the DNA operator replacement CMG NOW. Clients moving to TSE Version 4 onwards require to migrate their DNA over to the equivalent in CMG.

Our recommendations are that this  migration is properly planned and you ensure that training and full consultation with your partner is undertaken.

CMG application suite is a leading application suite in the area of Unified Communications developing products for; Presence and Availability Management, Attendant Consoles, Speech Dialers, Desktop Call Handling and Team Collaboration.

Building blocks of CMG Product suite.

The CMG suite can be divided into the different users groups;
Attendants with the NOW application with attendants console and Visit for visitor registration
Office Users with the Office Web were all employees can update their presence status; Calendar connection for MS Exchange, Lotus Notes or GroupWise synchronization; Mobile client that makes it possible to use the mobile phone for searching for a colleague; PA PC is the soft phone for MX-ONE.
Automatic services or speech with Speech Dialer for automatic speech recognition with search and connection to employees; The IVR were the caller can key in numbers in a menu for selection of a department and with voice prompts response; The Voicemail where the caller can leave a message to a users phone number and the Auto Attendant with speech recognition and synchronization with employee for status information.
Administrators and the Quality Manager application for attendants wall board and attendant statistics; The TMG for call flow analysis and accounting information.
Supporting the applications there are a layer of communication servers.

CMG

Unified communications means different things to different people. Better to consider it as a series of business applications/tools that can deployed either individually or collectively integrating your business processes to increase productivity/efficiency. CMG (Contact Management Suite) is the application toolbox of Aastra, it is a comprehensive suite of applications which can be delivered via an approved partner, dependent on your needs and the competencies required to implement the solution. Aastra look at CMG apps  in terms of three types of user, the attendant/operator, the business user and the mobile client.  

The first contact with CMG is often the migration from DNA to the Now attendant and the Extension Manager replacement Manager Provisioning.  

Both 'One Box' (Unified Messaging) and Solidus (Call/Contact Centre) are also application suites with some overlap, both of them concentrate on more specific aspects i.e. messaging or contact centre.
