Aastra Day September 16th 2010

Just to remind you...

Expected outcomes are that:

If members want to ensure they have answers to any specific questions in the closed session then please ensure you submit them to us via the web form . We would encourage all users to use the web form submission as it will help us deliver a more effective closed session.  Aastra have have a busy agenda prepared so any early notice will give us greater time to prepare.

This is Aastra's day and the audience is mixed. We will have our closed session as normal, we will have a number of points to discuss on matters arising since the AGM.

The Aastra agenda is quite tightly managed for this event and therefore it is essential we keep to the timings allocated. If you have any questions to bring up that need to be responded to by either Aastra or a partner submit them via the contact form and we will forward them on and get responses back for the session where possible.

This will be an opportunity to Meet Aastra's new UK managing Director Alan Reeve. He has re-iterated the importance of the existing user community to Aastra and it should be interesting what he has to say. He has responded to some initial questions put to him from the user group and indicates he is looking forward to meeting with group members and answering further questions we may have. Alans current response

The agenda itself will consist of a number of presentations and a series of workshops / Demos. The workshops are facilitated by Aastra and based around a Unified Comms theme. Two more unified communication apps will be 'live' demonstrated at the event, InTouch and InReach and the new InConference will be presented.

A common criticism is that UC is still a rather confusing set of choices with overlaps and users generally would like to see a clear setting out of UC (for existing installed base migration and ease of take-up). Our expectation is these workshops will be focus for the benefit of the existing users and address the criticism leveled at the confusion created by the overlap and overly technical focus of the portfolio and its supportive material.
