Aastra have completed the acquisition of Ericsson Enterprise business unit on the 1st May 2008. A temporary web link has been provided for further information.
The senior masnagement of Aastra took time to attend the User Group AGM on the 24th April. Their presentations and participation in the Q&A session was very well received by the audience of nearly 120 interested parties. Aastra indicated a strong support for the user group going forward, they see the clear benefits of being able to listen to the actual end customers.
Historical communication cataloged below.
Formal communication from the head of Ericsson Enterprise to customers (letter).
Communication from Tony Chen (CEO) of Aastra responding to competitor comments to Ericsson customers (letter).
The head of the enterprise unit in the UK (Paul Johnson) comments additionally as follows:
Dear Member,
I wanted to personally give you a perspective on what was been announced last week by Ericsson with respect to the Aastra Technologies purchase of Enterprise.
I spent most of last week in Stockholm, along with my team, at a pre-arranged Global Channel Management meeting which was perfect timing in terms of being able to communciate to the front-line troops.
I have included a formal communciation from Urban Gillstrom below but would like to mention 3 simple things:
The commitment from Aastra with respect to the Product Portfolio (particularly MD110/MX-One and ALL of the associated applications) is 100% - All of the existing roadmaps etc have not and will not change (we anticipate more focus in this area which is great for all of you).
The Enterprise business as a whole is being purchased which means ALL of the staff including developers, engineers and everything with an Enterprise focus is involved.
The User Group will continue (as you'd expect) as this will be BUSINESS AS USUAL as far as we are concerned.
I view this as very positive and look forward to discussing this with you at our Committee Meeting next week in Manchester.
Paul Johnson.
